To qualify as an Oral Health Educator will
enable you to take a more proactive role within your
preventative practice.
To enhance your qualification as a
registered Dental Nurse and make the right moves towards
becoming an Enrolled Dental Hygienist, should you wish to take
that path.
The Oral Health Educator certificate
involves a course of study over a 12 month period, full tutor
support will be given by qualified and experienced tutors in the
field of education as well as in dentistry.
Workshops will be offered and although they
are not compulsory we recommend you attend to gain vital peer
support and knowledge which will be delivered at each event.
The qualification is a whole practice
commitment as your employing dentist has to over see
Preventative advice been given to 10 separate patients, you will
build your confidence in this task over a period of time, but
evidence of this task has to be submitted to the examining
board.
A lot of the theory will be delivered to
you at the bi-monthly workshops, giving you ample time to study
and produce the work necessary for marking at the following
meeting. Full support is given via telephone, on a one to one
basis at the workshops or via our on-line facility. Feel free
to use the support as and when you feel you need the guidance.
Hours of contact will be provided to you in your starter pack.
A project is included as part of your
assessment this can be carried out within your place of work or
at a workshop as directed in the programme, full details will be
given at our open evenings, but again should you have any
